Concerned with Foreigners Registration and other
Formalities
Ministry
of Home Affairs (MHA), New Delhi
(This
is a Central Govt. Department vested with all powers
to regulate and control entry, movements and departure
of aliens and is the supreme authority in respect of
all matters relating to foreigners. The Central Govt.
has delegated registration formalities in the four metro
cities to FRRO office, and to concerned SP for all other
places)
Officers
: The concerned officers dealing with foreigners
matters are the Joint Secretary and the Deputy Secretary.
The daily routine matters are handled by the Under Secretary.
All these officers are available during office hours,
in MHA, New Delhi

This
office handles all registration matters and requests
for extension of stay, etc. The office is located
in the four metro cities of India, at New Delhi,
Bombay, Calcutta and Madras. FRRO office in each
of these cities is supervised by the Foreigners
Regional Registration Officer, with subordinate
officers being Inspectors/Sub-Inspectors of Police.
The offices are open during working hours upto 4.00
p.m.

handled by FRRO office, are delegated to concerned
SP, whose office is located in the Police Station
in each district in the country.

ports and border crossings in the country
